When the power goes out, this house in Redmond doesn’t go dark.
The home already had solar panels. We replaced the main meter, put in a new panel, mounted and wired a transfer switch, and tied everything into a battery backup: EG4 GridBoss and FlexBoss 21 hybrid inverters with LifePower batteries. The house can now run on the grid, the roof, or the batteries, and it switches over on its own when the power drops.
Panel holes were knocked out with a hydraulic punch, clean, with no ragged edges. Every lug was torqued to the number with a torque wrench, nothing tightened by feel. Meter to batteries, the whole job was done in one day.
