This is what happens when water gets behind your siding and nobody notices for years.
A homeowner in Redmond called us about a wall that looked wrong. When we opened it up, it was worse than anyone expected — the lower framing was rotted through, termites had been eating it, and mold was growing everywhere. There was no waterproofing behind the siding at all, no vapor barrier, basically nothing stopping the moisture. Some of the structural supports weren’t even installed right. That wall was barely holding itself up.
We tore out every piece of damaged lumber, reframed the wall with new treated, code-compliant material, added extra studs and bracing, put in new bottom plates, and installed proper moisture barriers. Then we treated the whole area against insects and mold and finished everything off — exterior siding and the interior drywall.
Now that wall is solid, dry, and built the way it should’ve been built the first time.
If your siding looks wavy, your trim feels soft, or you see staining on an interior wall — that’s your house telling you something. In our climate, moisture damage doesn’t fix itself. It just keeps going.
We do structural repairs, framing, siding and exterior work all over the Eastside — Redmond, Kirkland, Bellevue, Sammamish and nearby. Better we take a look now than rebuild the whole thing later.
