New foundation going in here in Tacoma, WA. This is a new-construction foundation we’re building in two stages — strip footings and underground work first, then slab prep and insulation before the concrete pour.
Stage 1 — January 29, 2026: Stage one is in the ground. We poured the monolithic strip footings per plan, installed the sewer lines, and roughed in the vertical stacks for the future bathrooms and kitchens. Every pipe coming through the concrete is sleeved. The gravel base is in and backfilled for drainage and support, and the utilities are aligned with the layout and elevations. All the work was done to the drawings and the code — and every stage was documented for the client.
Stage 2 — February 5, 2026: Back on site for stage two: slab prep. Rigid foam board insulation is laid over the whole slab area and sealed. Footings are in, underground utilities are roughed in, and the plumbing is stubbed up through the foam. Every seam and pipe penetration is taped and sealed. Slab prep is finishing up and the concrete pour is next — we’re on schedule.
