Popcorn ceiling removal and recessed lighting upgrade, start to finish. We took off the dated popcorn texture, patched and skim-coated the ceiling smooth for a clean, modern finish, then cut in new RCI 90+ recessed LED fixtures with even spacing for balanced light throughout the room. We use 90+ CRI fixtures because they render colors true to life — whites stay white and the room looks natural, not washed out. We finished the ceiling with Sherwin-Williams paint — it covers evenly, touches up cleanly, and the flat finish hides minor surface imperfections while keeping the light soft and glare-free. The result: bright, even light across the whole room and a ceiling that looks brand new. The photos below show the process — from layout and cutouts to the finished cans.
